UV Clinical
About UV Clinical
UV Clinical has developed a platform technology for microbial reduction on the inner surfaces of medical tubes. The medical device uses UVC light transmitted and distributed through the lumen of medical tubes.
The company was founded in 2017 by Jimmy Bak as a spin-off from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU).
In the following years (2017 - 2021) the company developed and extensively tested prototypes of its solution. This was followed by a proof of concept, demonstrating a 6-log reduction of selected pathogens inside medical tubes such as endotracheal tubes and hemodialysis catheters (in vitro).
In 2021 Rolf H. Sprunk-Jansen acquired the majority of the shares and became Chief Executive Officer,
focused on developing a world-class medical device together with Jimmy. In 2023, Peter Selmer Gade came on board as Technical Product Owner.
Our Mission
To save and improve patients’ lives in the healthcare sector.
Our Vision
A future where bacteria and biofilm in medical tubing is no longer a health issue.
